The Power of Place:
Building the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library
(Beijing)

At the heart of a great university is a great library. The desk top, the Internet, and the World Wide Web have changed the way libraries support the research, teaching, and learning needs of the university community. As a result, new roles and expectations have evolved for libraries in the digital age. In this presentation Judith Nadler, Director and University Librarian, will discuss the joint vision that emerged when a distinguished faculty, a top research library, and world renowned architect Helmut Jahn came together to create the iconic design of the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library at the University of Chicago.
